For many people, applying for financing can be one of the more exasperating aspects of buying a house, but it doesn't have to be.
Being connected to some lenders in the Gatesville area has helped me understand a few things that will make the loan application process much easier.
1 – Compose a list of questions regarding your loan program
Be sure to bring a list of questions with you if you find that you do not entirely understand the pros and cons of all the various loan programs.
I or one of my lender contacts will be able to assist you in understanding the advantages and disadvantages of both programs, because it can be a challenge to understand the characteristics of fixed and adjustable rate mortgages.
2 – Determine when to lock
When you lock in an interest rate, it means that your lender commits to the interest rates for the loan – usually at the time the loan application is presented.

3 – Decide if you want to pay additional points to decrease your interest rate
If you choose to pay additional points to lower the interest rate of your mortgage loan, you will do so by paying for them in cash at closing. Each point is 1 percent of the mortgage loan.
